Schülke Gigasept Instru AF 2L Concentrate, Instrument Disinfection

Gigasept® instru AF is a concentrate that must be diluted with cold water to the required working concentration before use.

Dosage:
Depending on the desired effect—1.5% to 4%.

Preparation example:
To prepare 1 liter of a 3% working solution, mix:
970 ml of water
30 ml of Gigasept® Instru AF

After use, immediately submerge the instruments completely in the working solution. Ensure that all surfaces, including the interior of hollow instruments, are completely covered with the solution, and leave them in the solution for the specified exposure time.

After cleaning, rinse the instruments thoroughly with at least drinking-quality water or, preferably, sterile distilled or fully deionized water to completely remove any cleaning agent residue.

Do not exceed the specified concentration or exposure time.

Always follow the instrument manufacturer’s instructions regarding reprocessing.

In accordance with national regulations, cleaning and disinfection may need to be performed in two separate steps.

Not intended for the final disinfection of semi-critical and critical medical devices.

Shelf Life of the Working Solution
The working solution may be used for up to 7 days if it is intended solely for the disinfection of pre-cleaned instruments.
If the working solution is also used for cleaning instruments, its shelf life may be limited by applicable national regulations.
Use in an ultrasonic bath

Gigasept® instru AF is particularly suitable for use in ultrasonic baths.

During this process, the product retains its chemical stability. Studies show that excellent cleaning results can be achieved in just a few seconds in an ultrasonic bath. Reference study reports are available upon request.

The concentrate must not be heated above 40 °C.

Any serious incidents related to the use of this product must be reported to the manufacturer and the competent regulatory authority.

If Gigasept® instru AF concentrate or undiluted solution comes into contact with other products (especially those containing aldehydes), precipitates may form, discoloration may occur, or the disinfecting efficacy may be reduced.

Therefore, the product must not be mixed with other cleaning or disinfecting agents.

Before using Gigasept® instr AF for the first time, it is recommended to thoroughly rinse all tubs, containers, and other equipment intended for use.

Keep the container tightly closed. Protect from freezing, heat, and direct sunlight. Store in the original container.

Do not use Gigasept® instru AF after the expiration date.

100 g of the solution contains the following active ingredients:
15.6 g of cocopropylenediamine guanidine diacetate,
35 g of phenoxypropanol,
2.5 g of benzalkonium chloride.
